Short Term Projects

Bananas, change and bills

SOUPerbowl Challenge

What: Lions District 49A is challenging all Clubs to donate food & $ to their local Food Pantries / Food Banks starting Super Bowl Sunday until Convention in April.

How: Each Club will collect and tally the pounds of food collected and distributed during this period. Pounds can be weighed or estimated. Each Dollar donated = 1 pound.

Reporting: Each Club participating should send their total pounds food collected and the number of members in their Club to darylm44@gmail.com by April 5, 2025.

Winner: Will be the Club with the highest weight donated per member. This puts every Club on the same footing.

We all know that our Food Pantries and Food Banks are struggling.

Let’s “Make a Difference!”

The 49A Committee on Hunger would like to invite 49B to join us in this Challenge.

A pile of pennies

Pennies for Pediatrics Cancer

Immediate Past District Governor Challenge

PDG Kathie had an idea on how to make money for one of her pet projects. She thought it would be nice to save her pennies and spare change for a purpose. It would give our members a chance to get rid of their small change and give a boost to her cause. Her goal is to raise 2k for the Pennies For Pediatric Cancer project.

The clubs are asked to send their Pennies or a check to the district by the end of June, 2025. The district would then send the funds on to LCIF in the district’s name.
