49A Vision team will be offering free Visionscreening to the students and their families out of the district vision trailer.

This back-to-school event hosted by the Anchorage Health Department and Parks & Rec’s Fairview Recreation Center is for Fairview & surrounding neighborhood kids with school supply giveaways. They invited community & social service organizations to staff booths or donate supplies or useful items. There is a stamped paper ‘passport’ for each kid, so that in order to get a backpack at the end, they need to visit and get a stamp from most of the booths, which guarantees booth traffic. They have had anywhere from 500 – 1500 people show up to the event.
